| Customizable Microprocessor Core Modules |
With
available on-board power supply, analog features, and the fastest Rabbit
3000 microprocessor, the PowerCore bridges the gap between microcontrollers
and single board computers. Created specifically to reduce the effort required
to build embedded control applications, the PowerCore is available with
1MB Flash, 1MB SRAM, and 1MB Serial Flash as well as 5 serial ports, 39
I/O, real-time clock, and Ethernet. On-board analog features include a
ramp generator that, coupled with inexpensive comparators and the pulse
capture capabilities of the Rabbit 3000 microprocessor, allows measurement
of analog voltages for applications such as temperature measurement using
the on-board thermistor. In addition, on-board AC crossover detection is
available for triac applications. The PowerCore family of core modules
offers embedded system engineers a powerful solution that balances cost
savings and performance while reducing design effort.
With
the introduction of the PowerCore, Rabbit Semiconductor has added over
1000 new core modules to its product line through FLEXible manufacturing.
Featuring customizable options such as microprocessor speed, power supply,
memory, analog features, and Ethernet capability, PowerCore Rabbit Core
Modules can be customized at the Rabbit Semiconductor web site via the
user-friendly On-Line Flex Configurator Tool.

Designing with PowerCore
The PowerCore family of microprocessor core modules is designed to facilitate
rapid development and implementation of embedded systems. PowerCores are powered
by high-performance 8-bit Rabbit microprocessors with extensive integrated features
and a C-friendly instruction set designed for use with the Dynamic C ® development
system. The PowerCore mounts on a user-designed motherboard and acts as the
controlling microprocessor for the user's system. PowerCores with on-board power
supplies can also provide power to the motherboard. Small in size but packed
with powerful features, these core modules give designers a complete package
for control and communication.
The
Ethernet port frees designers from the limitations of serial-port communications
and control and also permits instant local or worldwide connectivity
using low-cost networking hardware. Embedded systems using the Ethernet
RabbitCore module can be controlled and monitored (as well as programmed
and debugged when using appropriate accessory hardware) across any network
or the Internet. Add Wi-Fi
to your design with the WiFi Add-On Kit.
Development Kits
Jumpstart your evaluation and design efforts with a development kit.
The kit includes a PowerCore, prototyping board, serial cable for
programming and debugging, Dynamic C with royalty-free TCP/IP stack
and source, Getting Started Manual, AC Transformer, and miscellaneous
parts and connectors.
