design professionals committed to development of innovative products.
The engineering group works in a fairly informal environment to promote
the exchange of ideas. The hardware engineers use a broad mix of technologies
including FPGAs, Rabbit microprocessor, analog design, and higher-power
semiconductor designs. The software engineers incorporate innovative ideas,
such as TCP/IP and the use of cooperative multitasking, into Rabbit Semiconductors
core technology the Dynamic C software development environment.
Each software engineer is provided the latitude needed to develop efficient
code for driver libraries for new products.
Materials
The Materials Group is cross-trained between Product Packaging, Receiving,
Warehousing and Shipping to provide maximum job flexibility. Each employee
is familiar with tracking material movements using a computer-based inventory
control system. On-line UPS and Fed-Ex terminals are used in Shipping
to permit domestic and international shipments to be dispatched the same
day customer orders are received. The job variability keeps things interesting,
allowing utilization of different skill sets throughout the day.
Manufacturing
The Manufacturing Group produces and tests surface mount (SMT) and through-hole
printed circuit boards. Production staff operate fully-integrated SMT
lines, transforming components and bare boards into soldered, washed and
dried boards ready for testing. In addition, a wave-solder line is used
for boards requiring through-hole components. The product testing staff
takes pride in conducting multiple product tests, including Manufacturing
Defect Analysis (MDA), functional testing, and software testing. An added
benefit of working in the Manufacturing area is the new building environment
that uses bright, natural light from overhead skylights.
Test Engineering and Quality
Rabbit Semiconductor Test Engineers are responsible for developing test fixtures and
software used to evaluate products prior to shipment. The large number
of Rabbit Semiconductor products coupled with the wide range of customer applications
creates a major design challenge for our test engineers. Each Test Engineer
designs and builds a variety of both "bed-of-nails" vacuum and
functional fixtures, and switchable software to accomplish in-depth testing
of products. In addition to the Test department, Quality Inspectors work
with Manufacturing Product Testers by inspecting all incoming materials
before they reach Manufacturing. They conduct random-sample inspections
of boards coming off every Manufacturing assembly line to ensure no compromise
